About natural gas

Natural gas is a combustible mineral composed of methane. Natural gas contains carbon such as ethane, propane, butane, and pentane, and to a lesser extent, carbon dioxide, nitrogen, helium, and hydrogen sulfide. Natural gas extraction was first discovered about 500 years ago in the Sichuan province of China by accident in a gas pipeline that was used to boil salt water to extract salt. In a gas processing plant, the first step is to separate natural gas from water and other substances. Natural gas is a colorless, odorless and non-toxic gas. Natural gas can be used in the form of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) and Compressed Natural Gas (CNG). Liquefied natural gas (LNG) is natural gas, usually methane (CH4), that has been cooled to -162°C for ease of storage and transportation.

Compressed natural gas and liquefied natural gas are methane gas with different physical properties.LNG is a liquid, while CNG is a gas. LNG is stored and transported in insulated containers at -162°C, while CNG is stored in high-pressure cylinders. LNG is suitable for long-distance transport and large-scale industrial applications, while CNG is used for vehicle fuel and small-scale industrial applications.

Natural liquefied gas

LNG stands for Liquefied Natural Gas and stands for Liquefied Natural Gas. After extraction, this purified natural gas is sent to a gas liquefaction plant, where residual water vapor, mercury, sulfur compounds, and carbon dioxide are further separated. As the cooling process takes place, the natural gas turns into a liquid state. 90-95% of LNG is methane gas, the rest is a mixture of ethane, propane and butane. At atmospheric pressure, methane turns into a liquid at a temperature below -163 C, and boils at a temperature above -163 C and turns into a gas.

Compressed natural gas /CNG/

Compressed natural gas / CNG / is an abbreviation of the English word "compressed natural gas" and represents compressed natural gas. Compressed natural gas (CNG) is stored in thick-walled containers at a higher temperature than liquefied natural gas. Compressed natural gas is used as a fuel in vehicles with internal combustion engines instead of gasoline and diesel. It means packing 1 percent of natural gas in gaseous state under atmospheric pressure. Natural gas is compressed and packaged in special cylindrical and spherical containers that withstand pressures of 0–25 MPa (2,900–3,600 psi).
